PC100: Desktop Computer Software
Computers are fast becoming a standard in all aspects of life today and it is becoming increasingly necessary to know how to operate a computer. This course is designed for the very beginning computer student who has never touched a computer previously, although experienced computer users will also gain new skills with desktop computers. A wide variety of topics are covered including how to properly turn on and shut down a Windows based computer; how to create, copy, move, delete files; how to customize computer screen; how to effectively search for information on the Internet; and how to send and receive attachments such as pictures or other word processing documents through electronic mail.

PC200: Desktop Computer Hardware
This course is a continuation of PC100 using desktop computers but focusing on the hardware and security issues relating to computers. Topics covered include: identification of the internal hardware components and what their function is, how to connect devices outside of the box like a printer or scanner, how to keep the computer running efficiently, how to protect the computer from attacks from malware such as viruses and spyware, and also how to connect two or more computers together so they can share information or resources such as one printer or internet connection.
